Gather friends and family for a day of short films and animations at the historic Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on November 9, 2013. The Glovebox Short Film & Animation Festival is an all-day event that brings together an array of up-and-coming filmmakers to showcase their talents on the silver screen. Out of 150 submissions, 40 films were hand-selected by an all-star jury of producers, writers, filmmakers, and artists. “You can expect to see everything from music videos, animations, and comedies to dance films, dramas, and zombie attacks” states Glovebox co-founders, Liz Comerchio and Jodie McMenamin. “The annual Glovebox Short Film & Animation Festival provides an arena for ‘art films’ to be unabashedly ‘artsy’ and commended for being so.” Don’t have a full-feature time to commit? Each film category section is about 45 minutes long and showcases between 3-8 short films OR if you are up to it, dive right in and make it a full day of movie magic! Previous years’ films included music video Runaway by Mr. Little Jeans, a band who recently scored a track on the Iron Man 3: Heroes Fall soundtrack; drama film The Interview by Rei Green, whose recent film, Stone Cars, just screened at the 2013 HBO American Black Film Festival; and acclaimed indie-dance film artist, Lily Baldwin, NYC artist breaking out at SXSW for her film Sea Meadow. Tickets are $6 per film category section or $30 for an all-day pass and can be purchased at the Regent Theatre or on the Regent Theatre’s website beginning October 1st (http://www.regenttheatre.com/) Kids under 12 are FREE and have a special section of kid-friendly films that begin at 2 pm. All funds support the non-profit arts organization, Glovebox (www.glvbx.com) BONUS – Anyone who purchases a festival ticket or a festival pass will also receive $20 in FREE car service from the popular car-sharing app that promotes friendly rides when you need them – LYFT. One $20 gift code per-person and subject to availability. About GLVBX - Glovebox is a 501 C3, non-profit organization that enables artists to exhibit their work in non-traditional spaces in the Boston area. We have two objectives: to increase awareness of artists and their work and to improve the accessibility of art to the public. GLVBX achieves these goals by bringing together artists and the public to form a collaborative, educational community. www.glvbx.com. A special thanks to the 2013 Glovebox Short film & Animation Festival sponsors: LYFT, the Dig, Tallboy, Entertainment Cruises, Bubucheek, Scholars, Kate Castelli, Jon Christensen, Sara Kitaeff, Craig Rubino, Sara Stump, and Kara Wiseman.
